Bajaj Chetak EV Scooty: Bajaj Auto intends to increase its electric two-wheeler offering. The startup is developing a luxury electric scooter. Which will be released with a swappable battery. Currently, the firm offers only one model, the Bajaj Chetak Electric. The new swappable battery e-scooter will be a Chetak Electric model as well. According to a senior corporate executive, this measure would be done to enhance the market adoption of charging stations. Users can continue their adventure by replacing out the battery. It will be free of charge.

Sales of two wheelers are increasing

In April, Bajaj Auto’s sales grew by 7% to 331,278 units. In April 2022, the business sold 310,774 automobiles. According to the corporation, two-wheeler sales increased by 2% in April to 287,985 units, up from 281,711 units in the same month last year. In the domestic market, the company’s two-wheeler sales increased by 95% to 181,828 units, up from 93,233 units the previous month. However, the company’s exports of two-wheelers fell by 44% to 106,157 units.

Bajaj Chetak EV Scooty: Battery and range

The Bajaj Chetak is powered by a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 3.8 kW electric motor. It has a maximum power output of 5.5 PS. It has a maximum range of 95 kilometres in Eco mode and 85 kilometres in Sport mode. It takes around 5 hours to charge the battery to 100% using a 5 Amp outlet.

Along with regenerative braking, the scooter has all-LED lighting (headlamp, DRLs, turn indicators, and taillights), a front disc brake, and a digital instrument cluster (with smartphone communication through Bluetooth). The battery comes with a three-year or 50,000-kilometer warranty from the manufacturer. Its electricals are IP67 rated.
