Truecaller AI assistant feature: As part of its portfolio of products, the caller identity app Truecaller has introduced a feature called Truecaller Assistant that is powered by artificial intelligence and can be trained to answer calls on the user’s behalf. Rishit Jhunjhunwala, managing director of Truecaller India, said the virtual assistant is cloud-based and now capable of communication in Hindi, English, and the Indianised “Hinglish” languages.
Works as an answering machine for you
According to Jhunjhunwala, he said that, “Consider this to be an interactive answering machine for smartphones. The user must configure the assistance and call forwarding. The user can see the live discussion transcript on the app while the assistant is on the call.” The solution was first introduced as Call Hero by a business with the same name, which Truecaller later purchased. After the acquisition, the Call Hero feature, now referred to as Truecaller Assistant, was incorporated into Truecaller. It was first introduced in the US, where the formerly popular Call Hero is still available today, and has since been introduced in more markets.

M.D. of Truecaller India, Rishit Jhunjhunwala said that, “Although Truecaller has been able to assist consumers in recognising spam calls, users occasionally have to answer these calls. By assigning the duty of answering allegedly bothersome calls, this solution seeks to lessen such situations.” He further said in this reference that, if in the event that it’s an urgent call or they feel the need to personally answer it, the function enables the user to take control of the call in the middle of it.
