Harley-Davidson X Series: Company unveils two powerful variants, X300 and X500, in partnership with Qiangjiang Motors, here’s what you need to know

Harley-Davidson X Series: The highly anticipated inexpensive cruisers that will result from Harley-partnership Davidson’s with Qiangjiang Motors in China, which was announced in 2019, are now scheduled to make their global debut on March 10, 2023. The first products to emerge from this collaboration will be the X350 and X500, and Harley-Davidson China recently unveiled a teaser for the upcoming models. Even though both bikes’ specifications and images were leaked online last year, a more thorough look at what these new Harley-Davidson models have to offer will be available at the official unveiling in March.

What’s new in this series?

Harley-Davidson hopes to increase its market share and attract customers in China and other emerging markets with the introduction of the X350 and X500. The new middleweight cruisers will share a foundation with QJ Motor to reduce development costs. Leaked documents indicate that the X350 will have a 353 cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces about 34 bhp, with a top speed of 143 kmph and a kerb weight of 195 kg.

Same foundation as the Benelli 302S

Given that the QJ Group owns the Italian company Benelli, it is anticipated that the X350 will be built on the same foundation as the Benelli 302S. Harley-Davidson hopes to develop reasonably priced, high-quality motorcycles that will appeal to a wider customer base by pooling resources and technology.

Some upgraded featw

The Benelli Leoncino 500 shares its chassis with the Harley X500, which uses the well-known 500 cc engine tuned for 47 bhp and 46 Nm of peak torque. The Leoncino 500, 502C cruiser, and TRK 502 sold in India all use the same engine. According to leaks, the X500 will weigh 207 kg at the curb and reach a top speed of 159 kmph. Both the X350 and X500 will have alloy wheels, disc brakes, LED lighting, and rear monoshocks in addition to USD front forks up front.

Harley-Davidson X Series: Is it a affordable bike?

Although the Harley-Davidson X Series seeks to develop a more cost-effective line of motorcycles for the brand and build volume, it is unlikely that these bikes will be offered in the Indian market. This is due to a collaboration between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp to create middleweight motorcycles specifically for the Indian market. Both brands are currently working on the development of these bikes, which will be produced locally and exported.
