Honda Elevate SUV: Honda (Honda), a Japanese automaker, recently pulled its diesel versions of the WR-V, Jazz hatchback, Amaze and City sedans from the Indian market. The firm only offers the Amaze gasoline-powered car and the City sedan with gasoline and powerful hybrid engines. Honda will introduce a new mid-size SUV in the nation during the holiday season before Diwali in an effort to increase sales. He will make his international debut in June 2023.
What will be the name?
It would be known as the new Honda Elevate, according to the report, as Honda has already registered this brand in the Indian market. Several times on Indian roads, the new SUV has been seen undergoing testing. According to spy photos, the style of the new Honda SUV will be influenced by the CR-V and HR-V. There are a few international markets where these cars are sold. In the brand’s global SUV lineup, the new SUV will be positioned between the WR-V and the HR-V.
Know about the engine
The fifth generation City platform will be used for the design and development of the future Honda SUV. This implies that the SUV will work with both petrol and hybrid powertrains. The same 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, normally aspirated petrol engine seen in the City car will be installed in it. This engine produces 145Nm of torque and 121bhp of power. With this engine, manual and CVT automatic gearbox choices will be provided.
Know about the technology
The next Honda SUV will also receive a 1.5-liter Atkison cycle engine with robust hybrid technology, known as e:HEV (e:HEV), similar to the City Hybrid. Two electric motors will be included with this powertrain option. In a hybrid configuration, the gasoline engine produces 98 horsepower while receiving electric support to produce 109 horsepower. It produces a total of 253Nm of torque.
Honda Elevate SUV: Turbocharged petrol engine
The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that powers the City RS in Thailand may also be used in the SUV, if sources are to be believed. This engine produces a maximum torque of 173Nm at 2000-4500 rpm and 120bhp at 5500 rpm. A seven-speed continuously variable gearbox, or CVT, will be coupled with this powerplant.
Know about the feature
Along with ADAS technology, the new SUV will have features like Auto High Beam, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation System, and Collision Mitigation Braking System. A 360-degree camera, Honda’s Lane Watch blind spot detection system, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, hill launch aid, and an electronic parking brake are also included in the SUV’s features list. The interior will see the biggest alteration, with a brand-new, larger touchscreen infotainment panel and a digital driver’s display.
