Hyundai Ioniq 5 vs BYD Atto 3: At the 2023 Auto Expo, Hyundai Motor India unveiled the highly awaited Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric vehicle. The Hyundai Kona EV is the first electric vehicle on the Indian market, while the IONIQ 5 is the follow-up. The IONIQ 5 is Rs 16 lakh less expensive than the Kia EV6 and has the same mechanical components. The cost of the EV is Rs 44.95 lakh, and reservations for it have already started at Rs 1 lakh. At the Delhi Auto Expo, Chinese automaker BYD also displayed the limited-edition Atto 3. The EV only comes in 500 units and has a forest green shade. So let’s examine the comparison between the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and BYD ATTO 3.

Both EVs have an abundance of technological features. The IONIQ 5 features HUD display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bose music system, Home-to-car (H2C) with Alexa & Google Voice Assistant, 360-degree camera, and regenerative brakes. It also has a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, clusterEco-processed leather upholstery, electric adjustment for front seats with both ventilated and heated seats, rear heated seats, sliding centre console. Let’s now discuss the features that the BYD Atto 3 EV has to offer. The EV is equipped with ambient lighting, an electric tailgate, LED headlamps, a 12.8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, heated side mirrors, a PM 2.5 air filter, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, and many other features.

Battery, charging, range and motor

The 72.6 kWh battery pack for the IONIQ 5 is coupled with a PMSM electric motor that produces 350 Nm of torque and 217 PS of power. The electric vehicle (EV) claims to have a range of 631 km on a single full charge. According to Hyundai, the IONIQ 5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The Atto 3 is an electric vehicle that has a 60.48 kWh battery pack with an electric motor that produces 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque. On a single full charge, the EV’s advertised range is 521 km. The front wheels receive power, and according to BYD, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
