Hyundai Kona EV Car 2023: Second generation electric vehicle can run up to 490 km on a charge of just 41 minutes, know everything about this mean machine

Hyundai Kona EV Car 2023: Hyundai unveiled the second-generation Kona globally towards the end of 2022. The automaker also briefly mentioned that the SUV will be offered in three versions, each with unique design features: a gasoline-only model, a gasoline-hybrid model, and an all-electric model. March 2023 later, it has now revealed all there is to know about the second-generation Kona Electric.

Futuristic interior

The new Kona’s cabin significantly differs from the one in the current model and is clearly influenced by the Ioniq. It is evident in Hyundai’s newest, minimalist design approach, which features connected screens and thin AC vents that run across the dashboard. In order to create more storage space in the centre console, Hyundai moved the gear selector behind the steering wheel (similar to the one found on the Ioniq 5). It also gets multiple cabin theme options including black and beige two-tone theme and black with red accents (N Line version).

Equipped with advanced technology

The 2023 Kona is outfitted with a 12-inch heads-up display, an eight-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer, two 12.3-inch displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), connected car technology, ambient lighting, and ambient lighting. The Ioniq 5 has a feature called Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) that can be used to charge or power other electrical devices.

A 360-degree camera and a variety of ADAS technologies, including forward collision warning, lane keep assist (LKA), adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert, are included in the new Hyundai SUV’s safety package.

Hyundai Kona EV Car 2023: Range and charging

Standard Range (48.4kWh) and Long Range are the two main Kona Electric variants that Hyundai will offer with the international specification (65.4kWh). A 155PS/250Nm electric motor is used in the smaller battery pack, while a 218PS/255Nm motor is used in the larger battery pack.

The Standard Range’s mileage has not been disclosed by the automaker, but the other vehicle can travel 490 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Additionally, a fast charger can charge the Kona Electric battery from 10% to 80% in 41 minutes.
