Nothing Phone 1: This Phone is said to be one of the first phones in India to support Jio True 5G. The phone is already able to use the 5G services from Airtel. Popular smartphone brands like Google, Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and more don’t seem to be able to beat Airtel 5G and Jio True 5G. Notably, the Nothing Phone 1 is compatible with a large number of 5G bands, that includes n78, n77, n41, n7, n38, n28, n20, n8, n40, n5, n3, and n1.
Nothing has started rolling out an OTA
MySmartPrice says that Nothing has started rolling out an over-the-air (OTA) update for the Nothing Phone 1 that adds support for Jio True 5G. The article says that about 10% of Nothing Phone 1 users in India already have this update. Before Diwali, the rest of the users should receive this update. It’s important to note that nothing has yet been said specifics about the update that is said to be coming out in India to support Jio True 5G.
10% of Nothing Phone 1 users received the Jio True 5G update
Several users of the Nothing Phone 1 have tweeted that they have received the Nothing OS 1.1.5 update, which adds support for Jio True 5G. It is said that the update is 22.2MB in size. In addition, Jio True 5G trials have just begun in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi. Customers in these cities who will get unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1Gbps. Reliance Jio will slowly start testing 5G in other cities.
Bharti Airtel has also put out a list of more than 100 5G-enabled smartphones. The list says that the Nothing Phone 1 is ready for 5G. There are several other Samsung, Apple, and Motorola smartphones that can work with Airtel 5G services, but they need an update from the companies that made them.
Vivo also said on Wednesday that later this month it will release updates that will allow Jio True 5G and Airtel 5G services to work. At the moment, Reliance Jio has a 5 stand-alone G network and Bharti Airtel has a 5G network that is not stand-alone.
