Kia EV5: Finally! This electric car with a range of 598kms unveiled, likely to compete with the BYD Atto 3; all details here

Kia EV5

Kia EV5: The EV5, the newest all-electric vehicle from Kia, will be unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show the following month. The EV5 will be a crossover that is marginally smaller in size than the EV6 and is anticipated to start about $40,000. As a result of Kia previewing it at the Shanghai Motor Show in concept form in March of last year, we already have a very clear notion of how it will seem. The EV5 will compete with the BYD Atto 3 and Tesla Model Y in China, where the South Korean car giant belonging to the Hyundai group plans to launch it first.

Smaller than EV6

In terms of appearance, the electric SUV resembles the Kia EV9 a great deal. But there are also distinctive styling components, as the concept model illustrated. The Kia EV5 is anticipated to be a little bit smaller than the EV6.

Kia EV5: Battery and Range

According to Korean Car Blog, the Kia EV5 will have an 82 kWh battery pack that will give it a 598 km driving range on a single charge. The EV5, like the EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5, is supported by the same E-GMP architecture. Unlike the EV6 and Ioniq 5, which have 800-volt systems, it will have a 400-volt system as standard. This implies that charging the EV5 will take a little longer. This also results in a cheaper price for the EV, though.

Know about the launch

According to the report, Kia will release the vehicle internationally in other areas after it debuts in the Chinese market. The Kia EV5 is anticipated to have an NCM battery for the North American and European markets while the Chinese models have LFP packs. The electric vehicle will go on sale in China in the latter part of 2023, and in the rest of the world in 2024.
