Lexus GX Next-gen: Company to unveil 3rd gen SUV on THIS day, here’s everything you need to know

Next-gen Lexus GX: Lexus will officially unveil the third-generation GX SUV on June 8. It will remain below the flagship LX and serve as a mechanical twin to the yet-to-be-announced Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV. The corporation has already posted information about the SUV’s global debut on all of its official social media accounts. The brand also provided several photographs of the vehicle ahead of the big launch, giving customers a good sense of what to expect from the vehicle.

Next-gen Lexus GX: What all will be new?

The over-12-year lifespan of the second-gen GX will come to an end with the third-gen GX, which will be the first completely new Lexus GX SUV since late 2009. The most recent teaser image depicts an upright, boxy-looking SUV that adheres to the same design principles as prior Lexus GXs and the Toyota Prado. The Land Cruiser 300’s glasshouse and upright rear are strikingly similar. The new Lexus GX has horizontal taillamps that are connected to an LED strip with big Lexus lettering in the centre, unlike the previous GX, and its side profile appears to be considerably flatter and more angular than the previous model. A significantly larger wing mirror that resembles the Land Cruiser is also depicted in the teaser.

Know about the hybrid powertrains

While the next-generation GX’s powertrain is unknown, we anticipate that it will have at least two petrol-hybrid powertrain options, similar to those found on the Tacoma. In regions where buyers still want a diesel SUV, Lexus will probably offer the same 3.3-liter, V6 diesel as the LX500d and the LC300.

Next-gen Lexus GX to be sold in more markets than before

The Land Cruiser Prado, on which the Lexus GX SUV is based, wasn’t available in some of these areas, and the previous two models of the Lexus GX SUV were only available in left-hand drive and sold predominantly in North America and the Middle East. This will change, though, since the new GX will also be produced with a right-hand drive configuration, and the model’s debut in countries like Australia and Japan, among others, has already been confirmed. Although it hasn’t been announced, we anticipate Lexus will eventually introduce the new GX to India as well.

Lexus models are now unveiled before their Toyota siblings

The customary pattern of Lexus cars making their global premieres first, then Toyota models, appears to have flipped. The all-new Lexus LM was the first model to be presented, while the all-new Vellfire from Toyota has yet to be made public. Similar to the new GX, the brand-new Land Cruiser Prado will be publicly unveiled before the new GX.
