Mahindra Thar EV Car: According to rumours, Mahindra plans to shock everyone by revealing an all-electric version of its well-known lifestyle off-roader, the Thar. On August 15th in South Africa, the business will hold a public event where the new Mahindra Thar Electric concept will be on display. This is Mahindra’s second concept car, the first being a double-cab pickup concept based on the well-liked Scorpio-N SUV.
Mahindra Thar EV Car: Five-door Thar will not come on August 15
Mahindra has confirmed that the five-door Thar won’t be unveiled on August 15th, contrary to rumours. Instead, the Thar electric concept, which may include a conventional four-wheel drive system, will be the main focus. The Mahindra Thar’s three-door design and fundamental ladder-on-frame chassis are anticipated to be carried over to this new electric model.
Electric version will come with Quad motor setup
The Mahindra Thar Electric concept could use a quad motor arrangement for its electric drivetrain, placing one motor on each wheel to enable capabilities like crab-walking, which are comparable to those of the Hummer EV. The powertrain’s specifics have not been made public, but Mahindra unveiled five other born-electric ideas last year, none of which had a ladder-on-frame design.
Price and the launch date
Being an idea, the manufacturing viability must be taken care of before determining the cost and release date. There is currently no indication on whether the Thar EV concept will go into production, but more information will be revealed at the presentation on August 15.
