Nothing Phone (1): The market debut of the company Nothing’s new smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1), already looks to be the centre of debate. But, in South India, a boycott campaign against Nothing Phone 1 has begun. South Indians are vehemently opposed to this smartphone. Boycott Nothing has even begun to trend on Twitter.
On the microblogging platform Twitter, #BoycottNothing has been trending since this morning. Many Twitter users, especially those from South Asia, are pleading with South Asians not to purchase the Nothing phone (1). Additionally, some users question why the Nothing Phone (1) will only be sold to individuals in North India after being produced in the South Indian State of Tamil Nadu (Hindi).
One Twitter user wrote, “Nothing phone is nothing for us, shame on nothing phone.

The Nothing team received a request for the Nothing phone (1) from a tech reviewer in South India, but the communication staff at Nothing did not make the South Indian tech reviewer available for phone reviews. The PR team of Nothing allegedly stated that the Nothing Phone is not made for South India after this Tech Reviewer made the claim. Tech Reviewer has since produced a video on this topic and shared it with the public on YouTube. Protests against Nothing began as soon as the video went popular in South India.
Tech Reviewer claimed that mobile device manufacturers ignore South India Tech Reviewer. Tech businesses generally do not provide phone reviews for tech reviewers who speak Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, or Kannada. In addition, it was said that Asus, Samsung, and OnePlus had previously given notifications that they did not want phone reviews for South India.
