Sony Pictures Networks India has bagged the global media rights for Sir Lanka Cricket (SLC). However, terrestrial, digital and radio rights for the territory of Sri Lanka has been retained by SLC for a period of three years which will start from 1 July 2020.
The agreement will provide SPN exclusive TV and digital rights to telecast all 92 days of live cricket including 10 Tests, 24 One-Day Internationals(ODIs) and 18 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) as approved by International Council of Cricket(ICC).
The deal also consists of the broadcasting rights of India’s tour to Sri Lanka to play 6 T20Is and 3 ODIs. Out of these, one series will is scheduled for July 2021 which will include 3 T20Is while the date of the other series has not been announced.
