Top MPVs launching this year: In 2023, five new MPVs will be introduced in India: the Grand Cherokee L 2023, the EQS SUV, the Defender, the Palisade, and the Innova Crysta. There are eight SUVs and four MUVs among these five forthcoming vehicles. Three of the aforementioned vehicles are slated to hit the market within the next three months.

Top MPVs launching this year: Jeep Grand Cherokee L 2023

Jeep has introduced a three-row version of the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee for India. It is scheduled to be released in India in June 2023. The pricing of the luxury SUV is likely to be around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom). Jeep provides the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in both 6- and 7-seat configurations. Jeep offers two petrol engines under the hood: a 3.6-litre V6 with 294PS and 348Nm and a 5.7-litre V8 with 364PS and 520Nm. Both engines are linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQS, its premium electric SUV. It is planned to be released in India in June 2023, following the release of the EQS sedan in October 2022. Mercedes-Benz offers an optional third row with seating for up to seven persons. The EQS comes with a 107.8kWh battery pack that may be connected with both single and dual motor configurations. The WLTP certified range of the single motor (360PS/568Nm) that drives the rear wheels is 660km, while the dual motor arrangement (360PS/800Nm) receives an all-wheel drivetrain with a certified range of 613km. The top-spec 580 4MATIC produces 544PS and 858Nm.

Land Rover Defender

The Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound is the Defender’s mid-cost petrol variant, priced at Rs. 1.40 crore (ex-showroom, Kolkata). This 130 Outbound model is equipped with an engine that produces maximum power and maximum torque. Lantau Bronze, Fuji White, Pangea Green, Gondwana Stone, Tasman Blue, Yulong White, Carpathian Grey, Silicon Silver, Hakuba Silver, Santorini Black, and Eiger Grey are the 11 colours available for the Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound.

Hyundai Palisade

The Hyundai Palisade is the company’s most recent flagship SUV. The SUV, which is based on a new platform, was initially seen during the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. In the summer of 2019, it began to arrive at dealerships in select international markets such as the United States. The global-spec Palisade is powered by a 3.8-litre Atkinson-cycle V6 petrol engine with 291PS and 355Nm of torque. It’s paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a torque converter with several plates. It is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations.

Toyota Innova Crysta

The Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 G 8 STR is the mid-level diesel variation in the Innova Crysta family, with a starting price of Rs. 20.50 Lakh (ex-showroom, Kolkata). This 2.4 G 8 STR model has an engine that produces maximum power and maximum torque. Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 G 8 STR comes in five colours: Attitude Black, Avant Garde Bronze, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver, and Super White.
