At the 2023 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki presented the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV. Interested consumers can reserve the new Jimny online or at authorised NEXA shops for Rs 25,000. The new model is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2023.
It is built on the ladder-on-frame chassis that underlies the three-door Jimny Sierra, which is available in a few international countries. The 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine delivers 103bhp and 134Nm of torque in the SUV. There are two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic. It is outfitted with ALLGRIP Pro 44 low range transfer gear.

Maruti Suzuki has stated that the new Fronx Crossover will be available for purchase in the coming months. Bookings for the SUV have already begun at a nominal fee of Rs 11,000 per. The new Fronx, which will be marketed through NEXA dealerships, will compete with the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue 1.0, and Kia Sonet 1.0.
It will have two engine options: an 89bhp, 1.2L DualJet petrol engine with clever hybrid technology and a 100bhp, 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, as is an AMT with 1.2L and a 6-speed torque converter automatic with 1.0L turbo fuel.

Honda has stated that its new SUV for India will be revealed in the spring of 2023, in April or May. The new SUV is likely to be released over the holiday season, just before Diwali. It will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor.
The new Honda SUV will be built on a redesigned Amaze platform. The new SUV will borrow design ideas from larger Honda SUVs such as the CR-V and HR-V. Inside, the SUV features the same all-electronic design and screen technology as the new Accord and CR-V. It is expected to get a new 10.2-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is also likely to receive a camera-based advanced driver assistance system or ADAS, which we have already seen on the new City hybrid. The new SUV will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with a strong hybrid tech called the e:HEV.

Mahindra just introduced the Thar RWD model, which comes with a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 2.2L turbo petrol engine. It is also developing a new 5-door Thar, which is slated to be released in mid-2023.
The new model will feature a longer wheelbase and extra space in the cabin. It will be more practical than the current three-door model. There will be two engine options for the new SUV: a 2.2L turbo diesel and a 2.0L turbo petrol.

Hyundai, a Korean automaker, is also working on a new compact SUV for the Indian market, codenamed Ai3. It will be built on the same K1 chassis that underlies the Hyundai Santro and the Hyundai Casper compact SUV. The interiors and engine options of the new vehicle will be shared with the Grand i10 Nios.
It will be powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine and will be available with manual or AMT transmissions. In addition, the new small SUV will be available in CNG form. The tiny SUV will compete with vehicles such as the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3.
