TVS Electric Two-wheelers: Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS, announced during the company’s 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) that many sub-15kW electric two-wheelers are in the works. In addition, during the recent Q1 FY2024 earnings call, K N Radhakrishnan, Director & CEO of TVS Motor, announced that the latest BMW e-bike, the CE-02, is not only designed, but also developed and built by TVS (for BMW Motorrad catering to the developed markets).

Venu previously announced ambitions to co-develop sub-15kW EVs with BMW Motorrad in June 2022. He added, “the launch details will be announced at the appropriate time.” Sudarshan’s admission demonstrates that TVS is serious about its electric game. One of the numerous anticipated EVs is slated to be unveiled on August 23.
TVS iQube series gets over 30000 bookings
Finally, despite hurdles such as the FAME 2 subsidy change and regulatory uncertainties, TVS has received around 30,000 bookings for its TVS iQube series. Despite the obstacles, Radhakrishnan maintained that margins in the EV business remain positive. He also stated that while market penetration may slow, the company is sure that it will reach the earlier committed numbers, especially given the improvements TVS has made in the supply-chain side.
