Tata Motors officially unveiled the new Punch micro SUV in India on October 4, 2021. Tata plans to launch the model on 20th October, and has commenced bookings on its website and sales network across the country for ₹21,000. Tata Punch SUV would sit below Nexon in the company’s product lineup.
Adopting a new age, human-centric approach, the Punch is designed and made available in 4 distinct personas- Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative.
The latest sub-compact SUV from Tata Motors will be offered in seven colour options – Orcus White, Atomic Orange, Daytona Grey, Meteor Bronze, Calypso Red, Tropical Mist and Tornado Blue. There will also be dual-tone exterior colour options which will be exclusive to the top-end Creative trim. Further, customers will be able to personalize the SUV with the Rhythm and Dazzle customization packs.
Unveiling of the interiors of the Micro-SUV also showcased only two pedals under the wheel, hinting that the vehicle will also come with a AMT transmission.

While the Tata Punch is expected to only be offered in petrol form, it’s likely to have both the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine option (as seen in the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz) as well as the turbocharged engine option (as seen in the Altroz).
Gearbox options for the Tata HBX will also include a five-speed manual unit.
The Accomplished trim will get seven-inch infotainment screen, rear-view cam, voice recognition, passive entry, push-button start, among others. The fourth Creative trim will come with additional features such as auto temperature control, cooled glovebox, leather-wrapped steering and gear knob, and iRA connected technology.
Once launched, the Tata Punch SUV will rivals the likes of Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the upcoming Citroen C3 in the micro SUV segment.
