BBC documentary: Four SFI members were detained in Jamia University ahead of BBC documentary screening on Wednesday.The screening was scheduled for today at 6 pm. Police detained the students for creating ruckus outside Jamia Milia Islamia University. They were planning to screen the controversial BBC documentary on PM Modi today, said the Delhi Police.
The four were identified as Azeez, Nivedya, Abhiram, and Tejas.

Security beefed up
Security was beefed up on the campus in view of the student protest at 4 pm today. The step was a precautionary measure to avoid chaos, said the police.
A senior official of the University said that the administration will not allow screening on the campus and that a strict vigil was being maintained.
The BBC recently ran a two-part series criticising PM Modi’s term in office as Gujarat’s Chief Minister during the riots of 2002.
Documentary banned
On Friday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued directions to YouTube and Twitter to block the multiple videos of the first episode and the posts containing its links. The social media platforms complied with the demand and withdrew the series.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was alleged that unidentified miscreants threw stones at a group of Jawaharlal Nehru University students who were watching the controversial BBC documentary. Students said power and internet on the campus was disrupted to thwart the screening. They alleged ABVP was behind the incident. Police arrived at the university after students alleged stone pelting amid blackout.
According to reports, students were watching the documentary on their phones when, they alleged, a brick was also thrown at them. The miscreants could not be identified in the dark as there was no power on the campus.
