India started world’s largest vaccination drive against novel coronavirus on January 16. The country has so far inoculated over 6.65 million people. In the recent, a study was conducted among 7.75 lakh beneficiaries, out of whom 97 per cent people have expressed satisfaction after receiving antivirus-vaccine shot, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
The government has been tracking feedback from those who have been administered vaccine since January 17 through CoWIN, an app curated to track covid-19 vaccination information. Through the app, the government has received responses from 7.75 lakh people, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said at a press conference.
Mr Bhushan said, “On January 17, we started taking feedback on CoWIN application through the Rapid Assessment System (RAS) from those users who have been vaccinated.”
“Ninety-seven per cent people are satisfied with overall vaccination experience. This data is based on feedback from 7.75 lakh people,” he said.
Through the system, those who received vaccine shots were asked four questions in a personalised text, a day after they were administered the vaccine, Mr Bhushan added.
Of the total people who responded, 97.35 per cent expressed satisfaction with the overall process of vaccination and 97.31 confirmed that proper social distancing was maintained at immunisation sites, Mr Bhushan said.
He said 98.37 per cent confirmed that they were informed about the process of vaccination and that it was given properly, while 88.76 per cent said they were informed about adverse event following immunisation and 97.19 per cent stated that they were asked to wait for 30 minutes for monitoring after being vaccinated.
In the first phase, India is vaccinating health care and frontline workers.
