Aadhaar card update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a request to a certain subset of Aadhaar cardholders, requesting that they update the information that is stored on their cards. According to the organization that is in charge of the ambitious Aadhaar card project, those who obtained their Aadhaar card more than ten years ago but have not updated the card are required to resubmit their supporting documentation.
How identification can be verified?
A person’s identification can be verified with the help of the Aadhaar card by providing biometric information such as an eye scan, fingerprints, and a photo. Over the course of the past 12 years, the number on a person’s Aadhaar card has become the primary form of identity for them. This number is used in a variety of programs and services offered by the government. Along with the PAN card, it is necessary for all financial transactions to be completed using these documents. The government has now made it necessary to link PAN cards and Aadhaar cards together.
Use of Aadhar Card
The Aadhaar card is required for a wide variety of transactions, including purchasing mobile phone SIM cards, real estate, and vehicles. Additionally, it is required for the making of a passport for each individual. In the case that an organization does not have an up-to-date photo or address on file, they have the right to refuse any plan or service.
So, the card must be updated with the most recent document.
The government has made it possible, for a small fee, for cardholders to have their information updated. A person can either go to one of the authorized Aadhaar centers or make changes to their information online.
