AI-Based cameras: On the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway, several AI cameras have been deployed on behalf of the Bangalore Police. These cameras record all of the activities, such as excessive speeding, seat belt violations, and chatting on the phone while driving, and they report them at the subsequent toll. The challan is also subtracted from Fastag if someone breaks the rules, in addition to the road tax.
AI-Based cameras to keep a check on traffic violations
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is considering executing this project, which is currently in the planning stages. The government and the populace will both benefit from the time savings if this is put into practice. The challan will be promptly cut with the use of AI cameras, eliminating the need for traffic congestion or the establishment of checkpoints throughout the city. The initiative raises concerns that it might invade people’s privacy because funds would be taken straight from Fastag and NHAI will have access to their bank information.
How will it help in future?
For future efforts to transform traffic management across the country, the AI-integrated monitoring strategy on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Motorway serves as a paradigm. The use of AI in traffic control illustrates how technology may be used to make roadways safer and, consequently, cities more secure in the age of digital transformation. A major step towards completely overhauling India’s traffic management system could be taken if this effort is successful.
