Akasa Air: First look of Akasa Air’s Crew Uniform with Sneakers, Jackets Revealed

Akasa Air: They are India’s newest low-cost airline with the greenest and youngest fleet. Akasa Air, an airline company backed by prominent investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, showed the first glimpse of the uniforms for the crew members. The airline is the first Indian airline to introduce custom trousers, jackets and sneakers for its in-flight crew and is all set to fly by the end of this month.

The airline said the crew uniform (includes orange jackets and sneakers), is inspired by the company’s core belief which is ’employee sustainability’. It uses recycled polyester fabric, which is made from pet bottle plastic from marine waste. And While designing the uniform, more emphasis is on beauty as well as convenience.

This designer from Delhi has designed the jacket

Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, Akasa Air, said, “We have designed a uniform in which our team will be both proud and comfortable as they ensure a warm, friendly and efficient flying experience for all our passengers.” The jacket has been designed by Delhi-based fashion designer Rajesh Pratap Singh.”

The lightweight sneakers are created by ‘Vanilla Moon’ and have been designed, keeping the mobile lifestyle of the crew members in mind. The sole has been made from recycled rubber, making sure that plastic isn’t used in any form.

The permit

On 21 June, Akasa Air received the delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in India. The company plans to operate a test flight this week, after which it gets an air operator permit to start all commercial operations.
