Akasa Air: After Air India, Akasa Air is going to become the Second Airline in India to allow pets inside the Passenger Cabin. While the operations of India’s newest airline founded by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala began on August 7 and is all set to allow domesticated cats and dogs onboard along with passengers, in November.
Meanwhile, before this low-cost Airline Air India was the only one to allow pets inside the passenger cabin but that is only for the domestic flights.
Guidelines For Pets
Well according to the Guidelines stated by Alaska Air, only one pet weighing up to 7kg will be allowed in the cabin.
But if your pet weighs anywhere between 7kg to 32 kg, they will need to be checked in at the airport counters, and those weighing between 32-100kg will need to be checked in as cargo.
Meanwhile the Co-Founder, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer Belson Coutinho has said, “Domesticated dogs and cats can travel from November and the bookings in this regard will start from October 15. On the other hand, airline is “on track” as per plans and that the performance has been satisfying.”

Other Airline Pet related Policies
On the other hand, other airlines like Jet Airways and SpiceJet allow pets only within the cargo hold. And IndiGo, Vistara and AirAsia do not permit the carriage of pets on flights at all.
