Two days before the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there has been a fierce encounter between security forces and terrorists near an army establishment in Jammu, which is still going on. In the initial firing, a security officer was killed and four others were injured, officials said. According to the information, two terrorists were killed in this encounter. The encounter started when security forces launched an operation in the early hours of the Sunjwan Cantonment area of Jammu city. Police said they had information that terrorists were planning an attack in the city.
According to NDTVJammu and Kashmir Police Chief Dilbagh Singh told that, “Two terrorists have been killed in the Sunjwan encounter. The terrorists hiding in Sunjwan were planning a major attack. Their aim was to inflict maximum casualties on the security forces.”
Giving information about this encounter, Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh in Jammu said, “We got information that terrorists are hiding here and making some plans. We cordoned off the area during the night. There was firing on the cordon in the morning, in which a jawan of the security forces was martyred and four others were injured.”
However, a CISF official said that the terrorists attacked the CISF bus in the morning. In which there were 15 soldiers. The CISF retaliated and forced the terrorists to flee. One CISF officer was killed and two others were injured in the action.
This encounter happened just before Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Actually PM Modi is going to Jammu on Sunday. Here PM Modi will address a big rally in which thousands of panchayat members will participate in Palli village. Ahead of his visit, a high alert has been placed here and round-the-clock patrolling is being done by the security forces. This is the first political visit of PM Modi after the removal of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by Article 370 and 35A.
