Anand Mahindra to gift chess grandmaster Praggnanadhaa's Parents an XUV400, Details

Anand Mahindra: Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa (R Praggnanandhaa) of India finished second in the FIDE World Cup last week in Baku, Azerbaijan. He also became the youngest player to do so. Praggnanandha’s performance made every Indian proud. Anand Mahindra, head of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group, has promised to present Praggnanand’s parents with an electric SUV. 

Anand Mahindra to gift an XUV400

Anand Mahindra, the billionaire business entrepreneur, revealed on X (previously known as Twitter) on Monday that he will be gifting a XUV4OO to Grandmaster Praggnanandha’s parents, Rameshbabu and Nagalakshmi. The Mahindra Group chairman stated that he has received multiple demands on the microblogging site from his followers to present Grandmaster Praggnanandha with an off-roader Mahindra Thar.

Anand Mahindra, CEO of Mahindra Group, stated that he had a better idea and instead presented Praggnanand’s parents with a 5-seater SUV, the XUV400. Anand Mahindra stated that proud parents should be thanked for encouraging their kids to pursue their passion. Anand Mahindra also urged Indian parents to introduce their children to cerebral games such as chess and to encourage their children’s interest in these activities.

Praggnanadhaa’s achievement

The FIDE tournament in which Grandmaster Praggnanandha participated was outstanding. He defeated world number two Hikaru Nakamura and world number three Fabiano Caruana. However, he was defeated in the final match by World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen. Praggnanandhaa is now eligible for the FIDE Candidates Tournament after winning silver in the FIDE tournament.
