AQI : The air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the ‘very poor’ category on Saturday even though it was slightly better than the previous day. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 309. On Friday the overall AQI of Delhi stood at 329.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”.
AQI in the Delhi University area stood at 355 as per the data from the monitoring stations listed on the website of the government showing the National Air Quality Index.
The government’s monitoring agency System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) released data which showed Noida, which is part of the national capital region, recording an overall AQI of 392 while Gurugram’s AQI stood at 313.
