Bajaj bikes: After teasing them for a few days, Bajaj has just released updated versions of its Pulsar NS160 and NS200 street naked motorcycles. The price of the NS160 is now Rs 1.35 lakh, while the updated NS200 costs Rs 1.47 lakh. This means that the price of each model’s old versions has increased by Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000. (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
What’s new with the Bajaj NS160 and NS200?
The NS lineup is getting a little old. The NS200 came out in 2012 over a decade ago and has only had minor updates since then. So this update gives the NS range a much-needed boost. The standard telescopic fork on both models has been replaced with an upside-down fork, and dual-channel ABS is now standard.
Both models also got lighter wheels than the Pulsar 250s. This made the NS200 a little lighter, dropping from 159.5kg to 158kg. The NS160 also has lighter wheels, but because of that, it now has fatter tyres than it did before. This has caused its weight to go up by about 1kg, to 152kg.

A few weeks ago, when Bajaj released the NS200 and NS160 under the Dominar brand in Brazil with an upside-down fork, it was the first sign that these updated models were on the way. But those bikes still only have one channel of ABS.
What hasn’t changed about the Bajaj NS160 and NS200?
Other than these two changes, everything else stays the same. So the NS160 still has a 160.3cc single-cylinder engine that is cooled by oil and makes 17.2hp and 14.6Nm. The NS200, on the other hand, has a 199.5cc engine that is cooled by liquid and makes 24.5hp and 18.7Nm.

Aside from the engines, both motorcycles are very similar. They both have a perimeter frame that holds them together, the same style and bodywork, and semi-digital instruments. The only other big difference between them is that the NS200 has bigger tyres to handle its higher output levels.
