Bajaj Chetak: In the Indian EV market, the Bajaj Chetak, an electric scooter manufactured by Pune-based Bajaj Auto, has sold over one lakh units. According to industry data from SIAM Wholesales, the Chetak EV was introduced in January 2020 and took 47 months to reach cumulative sales of 1,04,200 units by the end of November 2023.

As of the end of November, Bajaj had sold 1,04,200 units overall. According to the data, sales of 62,991 units occurred between April and November 2023, representing a 172% rise over the same period in the previous year.
Last month, Chetak held a 13% market share.
Retail sales over the last two months have seen Bajaj Auto sell more Chetaks than Ather Energy e-scooters, according to data from Vahan.

The Chetak charges from 0% to 100% in 5 hours and has a battery capacity of 2.9 kWh. The Bajaj electric scooter can travel 108 km and reach a maximum speed of 63 kmph. The Chetak can produce 3.8 kW continuously, 4.08 kW at its maximum power, and 16 Nm of torque. Sport and Eco are the two ride modes that are offered.
The electric scooter features a two-tone seat, body-coloured rear-view mirrors, a new full-colour LCD display, matching pillion footrest castings, a satin black grab rail, and a two-tone seat. The headlight housing, blinkers, and centre trim pieces are all painted Charcoal Black.
