BMW XM Label Red Becomes MotoGP 2024's Track Safety Car, Details

BMW XM Label Red: The BMW XM Label Red was unveiled by BMW M GmbH as the official safety vehicle for the 2024 MotoGP season. The 2023 BMW M Award winner, Francesco Bagnaia, received the powerful version, which is the first-ever BMW M high-performance vehicle with an electric propulsion system. At the same ceremony, the safety car was unveiled.

The BMW M Award prize car, the BMW XM Label Red, debuted after the season’s last qualifying session. It has unique design elements and a performance-driven M-HYBRID system. The vehicle was unveiled as the winner of the BMW M Award, with Ducati rider Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia taking home the honour for a record-breaking two times.

The BMW XM Label Red’s drivetrain consists of an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox with an integrated e-motor and a V8 engine. The motors’ combined output is 737 horsepower.


The BMW XM Label Red Safety Car features a number of safety upgrades designed specifically for use on MotoGP tracks. These upgrades include extra flashing front lights, a front splitter, a safety car roof bar, Recaro seats, a six-point racing harness and a fire extinguisher.

When will it debut?

The 2024 MotoGP season’s season-opener will be held in Qatar in March, when The Label Red will make its track debut in its new role. That will be done while sporting the classic BMW M livery, ushering in the 26th season of the championship sponsored by BMW safety vehicles.
