The 1.5-litre mHawk 100 diesel engine that powers the common Mahindra Bolero Neo Special Edition has no performance changes. It is capable of producing 260 Nm of peak torque and 100 horsepower of maximum power.

Only a five-speed manual transmission is used to connect the powertrain across the entire range. The Bolero Neo is nothing more than a facelifted version of the TUV300 compact SUV. It is rear-wheel drive only and is supported on the ladder frame chassis from the previous generation of the Scorpio. It should be mentioned that the Mahindra Bolero Neo’s top-end model is equipped with an engine start/stop system and a mechanically locking differential for better traction in slick conditions. Other notable features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a MID, and more.
