After Air India, now Indigo has also started showing strength in the country. Now Indigo is going to buy hundreds of new aircrafts. Indigo has made complete preparations for this. India’s budget airline IndiGo is in talks to buy “several hundred aircraft” from European manufacturer Airbus, French publication Les Echos quoted Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire as saying.
The agreement could be signed at the French airshow in Le Bourget in June, the report said, adding that Le Maire made the remarks during his visit to India for the G20 summit.
An Airbus spokesman said the company was in ongoing discussions with airlines but could not comment on any talks that may or may not take place. Last week, IndiGo’s domestic rival Air India signed a record order for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.
