Air India and Vistara team up to offer seamless travel experience for fliers

Air India: The interline agreement between Air India and full-service carrier Vistara, which enables seamless travel across the networks of the two airlines, was announced on Wednesday. Travellers will be able to conveniently visit a number of domestic and international destinations by booking their flights on either airline thanks to the collaboration. This will provide flyers of Vistara access to over 80 points of Air India’s wide domestic and international network as well as give customers of Air India access to Vistara’s domestic network.

One airline can issue and accept tickets that are operated by the partner airline under an interline agreement. This partnership deal with Vistara is being finalised as the former merges with the airline operated by Tata. The implementation of Inter Airline Through Check-in (IATCI), which enables passengers to receive their boarding passes at the first point of departure for all sectors of their journeys on a single ticket, as well as having their luggage checked through to their final destinations, is included in the scope of the agreement between the two airlines. According to a statement from the airline, Air India and Vistara share terminals at the majority of India’s major airports, making on-ground travel easier for passengers with interline itineraries.

Air India has more than 100 interline partnerships

With partner airlines throughout the world, including Lufthansa, United Airlines, Air Canada, and Singapore Airlines, among others, Air India has more than 100 interline partnerships and close to 50 via check-in agreements. “We are pleased at our interline partnership with Vistara, which will provide greater connectivity and convenience to our joint customers travelling within and outside of India on both our expanding route networks,” said Campbell Wilson, CEO and managing director of Air India.We are excited to offer Vistara’s clients more flight options to destinations on Air India throughout the Americas, Europe, the Far East, Australia, and the Middle East.
