Narayan Murthy

Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy recently showered his four-month-old grandson Ekagrah Rohan Murthy with a truly grand gift – shares in Infosys worth a whopping ₹240 crore! This generous gesture instantly makes Ekagrah the youngest millionaire in India.

Grandson Becomes a Shareholder

The young Ekagrah now holds a stake of 0.04% in Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company. This translates to 1,500,000 shares, as per a filing submitted to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Consequently, Narayana Murthy’s own stake in the company has decreased slightly, from 0.40% to 0.36%. The transfer of shares happened “off-market,” as per the filing.

Infosys Founder’s Family Welcomes New Arrival

Ekagrah, whose name signifies unwavering focus and determination in Sanskrit, arrived in November 2023, bringing immense joy to the Murthy family. He is the third grandchild for the couple, with their daughter Akshata Murty and son-in-law Rishi Sunak having already blessed them with two granddaughters.
