Unitech: According to ANI, the Delhi High Court ordered former Unitech director Ramesh Chandra to surrender himself in to jail officials on Saturday, March 16.
Medical Evaluation by AIIMS
For a year and a half, Ramesh Chandra was free on an interim bail. The Medical Board of AIIMS report and the fact that treatment in jail is possible and the illness is not life-threatening were noted by the High Court. But the Court has ordered the jail administration to evaluate Ramesh Chandra at least twice a week and periodically to ensure that his medical care is continuing.
Misappropriation Allegations
In a case concerning the misappropriation of cash connected to home buyers, he is charged with money laundering. Regarding an alleged Rs 395 crore fraud at the IDBI bank, the CBI had launched a fresh case against Unitech Limited and its former directors in January of last year.
