The government on Friday named Dr V Ananth Nageswaran as the new Chief Economic Adviser.
The move comes a few days before the Union Budget is presented on February 1.
Dr. Nageswaran has taught in several business schools and management institutes in India and Singapore and has published extensively on his articles. He has also worked as a teacher, consultant and author.

He was Dean of the IFMR Graduate School of Business and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Economics at Krea University. He has also been a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India from 2019 to 2021.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Doctorate degree from the University of Massachusetts.
