Mukesh Ambani: The same email address that had threatened Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday again threatened him with murder on Saturday. Ambani has before received a death threat threatening to kill him unless he paid Rs 20 crore. An unidentified individual sent the threat using Mukesh Ambani’s corporate email address.
From Rs 20 Crore to Rs 200 Crore
This time, the sender requested Rs 200 crore and claimed that the amount had escalated from Rs 20 crore to Rs 200 crore because the prior email had not been replied to, according to a police source. The email read, “You have not responded to our email. Now the amount is Rs 200 crore, otherwise the death warrant is signed.”
Security Measures Prompted by Alarming Death Threat
In the earlier threatening email, the sender had written, “If you don’t give us 20 crore rupees, we will kill you. We have the best shooters in India.” Following receipt of that email and on the basis of a complaint from Mukesh Ambani‘s security in-charge, the police began their investigation and filed a formal complaint (FIR) against an unidentified individual under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) and 387 (putting someone in fear of death in order to commit extortion).
