Flipkart: The e-commerce giant flipkart has recently announced that it will generate more than 1 lakh indirect and direct jobs in its supply chain. It said that these jobs will be generated in sortation and fulfilment centres and delivery hubs before the 10th edition of the Big Billion Days Sale of the e-commerce company.
The company said ” “In the run-up to the festive season, Flipkart is looking at hiring and creating lakhs of seasonal jobs across its pan India supply chain to cater to customer demand during the festive season. The foundation of Flipkart’s supply chain excellence lies in its diverse and extensive workforce”.
The e-commerce giant is also to train a considerble workforce for seasonal jobs which includes womens, persons with disabilities and local Kirana delivery partners and others
The company will begin takiing skilling initiatives with its training programs for the people who will join the supply chain, this will eventually boost local employment. The workforce wll be trained to handle PoS machines, various mobile applications, scanners and hand-held devices.
“This year, we are creating over a lakh new job opportunities in our supply chain while also investing in skilling initiatives to deliver an elevated customer experience as we strengthen our footprint across the country,” said Hemant Badri, senior vice president and head of supply chain.
This year, Flipkart scaled its supply chain with distribution hubs and large-scale fulfilment centres to strengthen its reach in tier-III cities and beyond. It added over 19 lakh square feet of space across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana and many more states, the company said.
