Gautam Adani– Adani Group Chairman, Gautam Adani, has topped the list of highest wealth gainers in the Forbes India Rich List 2024, surpassing major industrialists like Mukesh Ambani and Savitri Jindal. His wealth increase outpaced the combined gains of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and OP Jindal Group Chairperson Emeritus Savitri Jindal, both of whom rank among the top three in the list.
According to Forbes, Mukesh Ambani was the second biggest wealth gainer, adding USD 27.5 billion in 2024, which brought his net worth to USD 119.5 billion. Despite maintaining the top spot as India’s richest person, Ambani’s lead over Adani has narrowed to just USD 3.5 billion.
Savitri Jindal Becomes India’s Richest Woman
Savitri Jindal, India’s wealthiest woman and an MLA from Hisar, saw her fortune grow by USD 19.7 billion in 2024, surpassing Shiv Nadar, who was previously the third richest Indian. This impressive gain positions her among the country’s wealthiest individuals.
Other Major Gainers
Telecom magnate Sunil Mittal and pharmaceutical leader Dilip Shanghvi also saw significant increases in their fortunes. Mittal’s net worth grew by USD 13.9 billion, while Shanghvi added USD 13.4 billion, making them the fourth and fifth biggest wealth gainers in 2024.
This year’s Forbes India Rich List highlights substantial growth across several sectors, with Indian business magnates solidifying their positions on the global wealth stage.
