Great News For Food Lovers! Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Bans THIS on His Platform, Urges Restaurant Owners to Follow

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal restricts AI-generated images in restaurant menus, emphasizing the need for authentic food photography to maintain customer trust and satisfaction.

Zomato

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has taken a strong stand against the usage of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images in restaurant menus in an audacious attempt to preserve consumer confidence and authenticity. Goyal underlined the detrimental effects of deceptive photographs and asked restaurant partners to invest in authentic food photography, stressing the effect on customer pleasure. Zomato is committed to improving user experience and making sure that customers receive precisely what they see on the menu, which includes this step.

AI Images – A Breach of Trust

The usage of AI-generated dish photographs worries Deepinder Goyal, who said, “AI-generated food/dish images are misleading, and we have received numerous customer complaints on this issue.” He made the point that these pictures not only betray the trust of customers but also cause a rise in complaints, refund requests, and negative reviews for eateries. Goyal hopes to shield customers and restaurant partners from the detrimental effects of misleading visuals by opposing the usage of AI in this field.

Zomato’s Firm Stand Against AI Misleaders

Goyal clarified in his statement that Zomato will not accept the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated photos on its platform. He said, “We urge our restaurant partners to avoid using AI for dish images in restaurant menus from now onwards,” and that by the end of the month, the business would start actively eliminating such images. Zomato will use automation to identify and reject AI-generated images in order to further enforce this policy and make sure that only real images of dishes are shown.

Support for Restaurants

Acknowledging the difficulties encountered by restaurateurs, Deepinder Goyal offered a resolution. He advised anyone who hasn’t yet invested in food photography to get in touch with Zomato’s catalogue support staff. “This is offered to you as pass-through cost; Zomato doesn’t make any money as part of this process,” he stated.

Marketing without AI – A New Directive

Goyal also extended the AI image ban to Zomato’s own marketing team, ensuring that the company’s promotional materials reflect the same authenticity demanded of its restaurant partners. “Please note that this ban also applies to our marketing team – they have been instructed to not use AI generated images for marketing purposes hereon,” he stated. This comprehensive approach underscores Zomato’s commitment to transparency and quality across all facets of its operations.
