India’s Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has reacted to Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey’s statement claiming pressure from India. Anurag Thakur said that what has been said is a white lie. Jack Dorsey, awake after years of slumber, seeks to cover up his dark deeds. When Twitter was bought by another person, the Twitter files revealed how the platform was abused and discriminated against. When elections come in India, many foreign forces wake up. Their endeavor is to create disturbance in the world’s largest democracy.
What is the matter?
Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey recently alleged in an interview that the Indian government had put pressure on Twitter during the farmers’ protests in the country. And for not obeying the government, threats were given to shut down Twitter in India, to raid the homes of its employees. After this allegation of Jack Dorsey, there was a stir in the political corridors. And the Congress is trying to capitalize on it. The Congress is engaged in besieging the government politically. On the other hand, the central government has told these allegations as utter lies.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Chandrashekhar said that Twitter is a company which believes that it is not necessary for them to follow Indian law. They believed that they did not have to follow Indian law and made their own rules as they went along. The Government of India has been very clear from the very beginning to all companies operating in India that they will always have to comply with Indian law.
