IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final: There’s no denying that Indians are looking forward to the 2024 T20 World Cup final, which will take place in Barbados, between India and South Africa. Some are fortunate enough to watch the game from the comfort of their homes, while others are in the stadium. But billionaire Anand Mahindra shocked everyone by saying he wasn’t going to watch the match on X (formerly Twitter)!
A Superstitious Decision
In response to a tweet from a user named Apurv Anand who asked, “Sir, aaj match dekhoge ya nahi?” (Sir, will you watch the match today or not?), Anand Mahindra replied, “Bilkul nahin. Aapki commentary sunta rahoonga. Aur agar jeet gaye to mere tyaag ki tareef zaroor karna..” (Absolutely not. I will keep listening to your commentary. And if we win, do praise my sacrifice..) with a smile emoji.
When he watches the match live, a superstitious Mahindra thinks that Team India loses.
Past Sacrifices
This is not the first time Mahindra has refrained from watching a crucial match. During the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup Final between India and Australia, he made a similar decision. He tweeted, “No, no, I am not planning to watch the match (my service to the nation) But I will, indeed, be wearing this jersey and installing myself in a hermetically sealed chamber with no contact with the outside world until someone knocks and tells me we’ve won…”
The High-Stakes Final
The T20 World Cup final in 2024 will take place at Kensington Oval in Barbados between South Africa and India. Since neither team has lost yet in the tournament, there is a lot of anticipation for this match. South Africa has never made it to a World Cup final, while the Indian team hasn’t won an ICC World Cup since 2011. Today’s epic match has been set up by the weight of unfulfilled hopes and previous close calls on both teams.
IND vs SA T20 World Cup Final Weather Update
There had been a significant likelihood of rain on Saturday. However, the city is now seeing bright skies with intermittent clouds. After days of bad weather predictions for the T20 World Cup final, this is encouraging. Forecasts still suggest that rain might ruin the India vs South Africa final, despite this.
