A video of an Indigo airline flight is viral on social media in which people are seen fumbling through tickets and brochures. It is being said that the AC was not working in the flight, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers. It is being said that Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja was also present in the flight.
Punjab Congress President Urges Strict Action
Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja on Saturday alleged that traveling from Chandigarh to Jaipur was the worst experience he had ever had on an Indigo flight. Singh said the air-conditioners were not working on the flight. He urged the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India to take strict action against the airline so that such incidents do not recur.
Singh wrote on his Twitter handle (now X) that today he traveled from Chandigarh to Jaipur by Indiga flight number 6E7261. We had to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes under the scorching sun and to our surprise when we entered the flight. The ACs were not working and the flight took off without turning on the ACs. The ACs were off from take off till landing and all the passengers had to ‘suffer’ during the entire journey.
Singh said no one addressed the serious concern during the flight. Air hostesses ‘generously’ distributed tissue papers to passengers to wipe their sweat. Most of the passengers, including women and children, looked restless. It was obviously a big technical issue but the authorities concerned just wanted to make money, that’s why the health and comfort of the passengers was put at stake.
The Congress leader also shared a video of the incident. In the video, passengers are seen clutching a fan with tissues and pieces of paper. This is not the first time that Indigo airline is in news due to complaints from passengers. In 2018, a passenger on an Indigo flight from Delhi to Kolkata complained of suffocation due to a malfunctioning AC inside the aircraft.
