People associated with this matter have said that Airbus can make an announcement related to this at the Paris Air Show. Airbus is preparing for the Grand Entrance at the Paris Air Show. Indigo and Airbus can announce this on Monday itself. Airbus is also in talks with Saudi Arabian airline Flynas for narrow body aircraft. In March this year, there was news that Air India has decided to place an order for 470 aircraft.

Indigo’s order may prove to be the biggest order in aviation history. Indigo has pending delivery of 477 aircraft of the a320 family by the year 2030. This order will ensure that the supply of new aircraft to Indigo continues without any interruption in the next decade.

Indigo currently has more than 60 percent share of India’s domestic aviation market. With Indigo eyeing to retire 100 aircraft by 2030, the airline wants to ensure delivery of new aircraft to maintain its fleet size. Indigo Airlines needs new aircraft to maintain its fleet size of more than 700 flights in the coming decade.
