iPhone maker Apple has exported smartphones worth more than 10,000 crores from India in the month of May. According to the news of Economics Times, the company has exported phones worth more than 20,000 crores from India in April and May, which is double as compared to last year. In April and May last year, the company exported smartphones worth more than 9,066 crores. In the year 2023, the export of Apple iPhone from India has increased almost four times to cross $ 5 billion. The reason for this is the boom brought by the company in local manufacturing.
Actually, due to the ongoing tension between US and China, Apple is increasing its attention towards India. India currently exports smartphones to many developing countries such as UK, Italy, France, Middle East, Japan, Germany and Russia. Apple filed an application with the Indian government in January 2016 to set up its own stores in India for the first time. In the same year, the Government of India relaxed its investment rules for MNCs, after which the way was cleared for giants like Apple and IKEA to set up stores in the country.
25% iPhone will be manufactured in India
Apple launched its first online store in India in September 2020. Recently the company has opened two official stores in Mumbai and New Delhi. The company has earned more than 50 crores in a month after the opening of the store. Currently, only 5 to 7% of Apple’s iPhones are manufactured in India. According to JP Morgan analyst, the company wants to manufacture 25% of its total production from India by 2025.
iPhone 15 will be launched soon
Apple may launch the iPhone 15 series in September. In this series, the company will provide USB-Type C charger. Also, the company can provide a 48MP camera in the base model. Till now only 12MP cameras were available in the base model. If leaks are to be believed, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model will get a prominent camera module which will have a 5-6x optical zoom enabled periscope lens apart from other sensors.
