IT parks in Noida will soon have bars for employees and visitors

Noida city IT parks will soon be permitted to offer bars to both its staff and tourists. At the board meeting held on December 28, Noida Authority declared that it had updated its policy on institutional assets beyond 5 acres.

After a policy revision by the Noida Authority, restaurants and new bars that serve alcohol to employees and guests will soon be available in IT parks

Following the change, eateries in Noida’s IT parks are now permitted to serve alcohol after obtaining the requisite licences, and more bars may also be erected on the property.

Decision made after taking into consideration long-standing request from IT companies that their employees require some “leisure time” after hard work hours

According to representatives of the Noida Authority, the decision was made in response to a long-standing request from IT companies that their employees require some “free time” after long workdays. Additionally, these businesses host a number of visitors that require a vacation.

Restaurants, health clubs, and gyms could previously be found in the institutional premises in Noida’s IT parks, but the sale of alcohol was prohibited. Excise officials in Gautam Budh Nagar hailed the action and said that it would increase the district’s revenue.

Move welcomed; other IT centres Gurgaon and Bengaluru also permit bars; Noida is a growing destination for IT companies

“It’s a wise decision. For IT companies, Noida is a growing location. Bars are also permitted in other IT centres like Bengaluru and Gurgaon. Many restaurants in Noida’s IT and ITES plots requested a bar licence, but we were unable to do so before due to limitations imposed by the Authority, according to RB Singh, the excise officer for Gautam Budh Nagar.

A bar licence can be approved by the district liquor bar committee, which is led by the district magistrate. The excise department examines whether the required paperwork is in place after receiving an application.

“The district magistrate’s office receives the application next. The committee then makes a final judgement, after the police and deputy excise commissioner have given their certificates of no objection,” Singh added.
