Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, reportedly received a death threat through email on Friday. The threat demanded a payment of Rs 20 crores, warning that failure to comply would result in harm to him. A case has been registered under sections 387 and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code at the Gamdevi Police Station in Mumbai.
Reliance Industries Chairman Targeted in Threatening Email
This is not the first time Mukesh Ambani has been targeted with threats. Last year, Mumbai Police arrested an individual from Bihar who had made anonymous calls, threatening to target Mr. Ambani and his family members. The caller had threatened to “blow up” the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and the Ambani family residence, ‘Antilia,’ located in south Mumbai.
In 2021, an explosives-laden SUV was discovered near Mr. Ambani’s residence in south Mumbai, leading to an investigation. A businessman named Hiran, who was in possession of the SUV, was found dead in a creek in Thane.
Security concerns have surrounded Mukesh Ambani and his family, necessitating enhanced measures to ensure their safety.
