New Rule From 1st June 2024: June has come along with a lot of important updates. This article contains all the information you need to know about the most recent developments, from reduced commercial gas cylinder costs to flexible driving test rules.
Commercial Gas Cylinder Prices Slashed
The cost of 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders has been lowered by up to Rs. 72 by oil marketing companies as of right now. Take a brief glance at the updated pricing below:
- Delhi: Price down by Rs. 69.50 to Rs. 1,676 (previously Rs. 1,745.50).
- Kolkata: Price reduced by Rs. 72 to Rs. 1,787 (previously Rs. 1,859).
- Mumbai: Price down by Rs. 69.50 to Rs. 1,629 (previously Rs. 1,698.50).
- Chennai: The new price is Rs. 1,840.50.
It’s crucial to remember that the cost of 14.2-kilogram home gas cylinders has not changed. They remain at Rs. 803 in Delhi, Rs. 829 in Kolkata, Rs. 802.50 in Mumbai, and Rs. 818.50 in Chennai.
ATF Price Drop Promises Cheaper Air Travel
Air travelers have something to cheer about as the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) have been slashed. Here’s the latest:
- Delhi: ATF is now priced at Rs. 94,969.01 per kiloliter, a reduction of Rs. 6,673.87.
- Chennai: ATF is now Rs. 98,557.14 per kiloliter, down by Rs. 7,044.95.
This decrease in ATF prices could lead to more affordable air travel.
Higher TDS for Non-Linking of Aadhaar and PAN
From today, if you haven’t linked your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar, you will face higher Tax Deducted at Source (TDS). The Income Tax Department had urged taxpayers to link their PAN with Aadhaar by May 31. Currently, a fee of Rs. 1,000 applies for linking PAN with Aadhaar. If not linked, your PAN will become inoperative, affecting your financial transactions.
New Rules for Driving License Tests
The requirements for acquiring a driver’s licence have been updated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The driving test is no longer required to be taken at Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). Alternatively, driving schools or private training facilities are increasingly offering driving tests. Additionally, if a minor is caught driving, their parents will face legal action, including a fine of Rs. 25,000, cancellation of the vehicle registration, and the minor being barred from obtaining a license until age 25.
Inactive PNB Accounts to be Closed
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced that accounts with no transactions for more than three years will be closed. Account holders who have not used their accounts for over three years as of April 30, 2024, and have zero balance, have been notified. These accounts will be closed one month from the date of the notice to prevent misuse.
