Ola Electric intends to compete with Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra, two of the India’s largest automakers, by entering the commercial electric vehicle market. With its Treo Zor three-wheeled electric cargo vehicle, Mahindra & Mahindra dominates the market.
Tata Motors announced the debut of the Tata Ace EV in May in anticipation of enormous demand in the EV market; deliveries are scheduled to begin in May. According to a senior Ola Electric executive, the company will release entry-level models of both three- and four-wheeled eSCVs before the end of the current year.

Vehicles whose gross weight does not exceed 3.5 tonnes fall under the eSCV category. These vehicles are employed by e-commerce companies for last-mile deliveries, and according to Ola, the sweet spot for eSCVs is the category of 1-3 tonne vehicles. eSCV are additionally qualified for financial aid under the Government FAME 2 programme.
With the release of Ola Electric’s e-3W, the brand will be able to compete with the likes of Bajaj Auto, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Greaves Cotton as a result of Ola’s foray into the EV market area, which is generating a great deal of buzz and anticipation in the industry. The company also intends to enter the market for light commercial vehicles.

The company’s aspirations to launch a significant electrification campaign as part of its ride-sharing electrification drive have encouraged its decision to enter the three-wheeler industry. The company wants to create electric auto rickshaws and is already a major player in the three-wheeled ride-sharing industry.
On the other side of the exciting developments in the EV market , the Tata Ace EV has been on extended runs with its fleet owners. It is is also developing the charging ecosystem on its premises. Tata Motors has already signed MOU’s with Amazon, Flipkart and Big Basket to deliver 39,000 vehicles in Delhi, Pune , Mumbai and other locations.
Ola Electric has started re-engineering its product lineups and will be developing a strategy that effectively balances value and cost.
