Petrol And Diesel Price Update: Today is Diwali, the festival of lights, and on this occasion, oil companies across the country have decided to keep oil prices stable at the national level.
However, just like any other day, this morning at 6 o’clock, oil companies did revise the prices of petrol and diesel, which resulted in slight changes in oil prices in some cities. Therefore, before refilling your vehicle with oil, you should be aware of the latest rates in your city.
Due to this, prices vary in each state.
You may often wonder why the rates fixed by oil companies at the national level are not applied uniformly in every city. The reason for this is the state taxes imposed by each state government. State governments also levy taxes on oil, which leads to different prices in each state.
Prices in metropolitan cities:
Right now, a litre of petrol costs Rs 96.72 in Delhi, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 89.62. In contrast, a litre of diesel costs Rs 94.27 and a litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 in Mumbai. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol costs Rs 106.03, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 92.76. However, in Chennai, a litre of diesel is sold for Rs 94.24 and a litre of petrol for Rs 102.63.
