Petrol And Diesel Price Update [31 August, 2023]: The country’s government oil companies release the price of petrol and diesel every day. This price is updated at 6 am according to the cities and states. In the four metros, fuel rates have remained stable in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, but there has been a change in the prices in Chennai.
Fuel rate in metropolitan cities:
In Chennai, petrol is available 11 paise cheaper at Rs 102.63, diesel 9 paise cheaper at Rs 94.24 a litre. Whereas in Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 96.72 and diesel at Rs 89.62 per litre. Whereas in Kolkata petrol is being sold at Rs 106.03 and diesel at Rs 92.76 and in Mumbai at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27.
What is the condition of crude oil?
Talking about the price of crude oil in the international market, it is also on the green mark. On the last trading day of the week, Brent Crude Oil registered an increase of 1.34 per cent and reached $84.48 per barrel. WTI Crude Oil is also up by 0.99 percent at $ 79.83 per barrel.
Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the public sector, such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), regularly adjust their petrol and diesel prices according with foreign exchange rates and benchmark pricing. Every day at six in the morning, any changes to the price of fuel and diesel go into effect.
