Petrol and diesel price update [01 November, 2022]: The cost of petrol and diesel has decreased by 40 paise per litre. The revised prices come into effect on Tuesday at 6 a.m. After staying constant for more than seven months, the price has dropped. On April 7, the most recent fuel price decrease was released.
Petrol was priced at Rs. 96.72 on Monday in the nation’s capital, Rs. 106.03 in Kolkata, Rs. 106.31 in Mumbai, and Rs. 102.63 in Chennai. The drop in prices was expected as international crude oil prices dropped and have remained stable for some time. The crude oil price has remained below 95 dollars per barrel for some time now.

The difference in the price of fuel in the states is due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.

Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates daily, taking into account crude and rupee-dollar rates in international markets. Daily price changes for fuel are effected at 6 am every day.
